A Twitter account that goes by the name Cyprian Nyakundi, (claims unaffiliation to him), but obviously knowledgable about his issues, has revealed the untruths in Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) calls for his arrest calling him a Wanted Man.
However, today morning, blogger Nyakundi came out to point out the lies in the above tweet showing perjury.
#PERJURY On 17/4 court ordered that I take plea on 14/5. On 20/4 DCI went to court and lied on oath to get the warrant. They lied I was served on 13/4 yet they only served me yesterday 21/4 at 8:48am moments to the court session. Private prosecution for perjury?
Mr Nyakundi was arrested and briefly detained on 24th March 2020 after he published a post claiming that senior Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) staff had travelled in from Europe and failed to observe the mandatory 14 days quarantine.
The blogger who successfully challenged Section 84D of the Kenya Information and Communication Act, was released on Sh200,000 police bond.
More than a week later, Nyakundi published that Antony Gichia, a KRA staffer had succumbed to COVID-19, the mainstream media reiterated that Gichia’s demise was caused by Covid-19.
The latest arrest against the blogger is on the Antony Gichia’s case.
Yesterday, Kenyans went online to question the veracity of such actions.
Many others suggested that the case was open witchhunt for some other unknown reasons.
The CISNyakundi Twitter account also revealed some other things about the case through a 4 tweet untied thread:
In the twitter posts of opinion shared about the case as seen by mahakamani.news, many people believe that the blogger is being targeted.
