Mahakamani has learnt that controversial blogger Cyprian Nyakundi has been served with a demand letter to apologize to Blowplast Limited, a company that he has exposed on his blog for allegedly mistreating workers.
In a demand letter seen by Mahakamani News, through our source at the Judiciary, written by Macharia-Mwangi & Njeru Advocates, Nyakundi is required to apologise and pull down the articles that have exposed alleged mistreatment of workers at the company.
The letter which is dated 6th September; the Managing Director Mr. Sanjay Brahmbhatt and Human Resources Manager Enock Orora through the law firm, gave the blogger 48 hours, to do so or they move to court.
The ultimatum period expired yesterday.
Among the things Blowplast Limited has taken issue with Nyakundi is the painting of the company as one that, ‘perpetuates slavery, doesn’t believe in the ‘rule of law’, led by corrupt managers that doesn’t ‘respect the rights of employees’ etc.
It further states that as a result of publications on Nyakundi’s blog, the said persons have ‘sufferred irreparable harm and in standing of the society’.
It remains to be seen if Nyakundi who has run the exposés since September 2, 2019 will pull the articles that on a larger sense according to his blog posts, exposed slavery in Kenya.
