A 30-year-old woman and her 11-year-old daughter were found dead on Sunday in their house at Landless area in Thika, Kiambu County.
Confirming the incident, Thika Sub-county police commander Beatrice Kiraguri said the bodies of the deceased were discovered after neighbours reported that the woman had gone missing over the past few days and that a foul smell was emanating from her house.
This prompted police to break into the house where they found the woman and her daughter lying dead.
According to police, the bodies of the deceased had several stab wounds.
Meanwhile, a man suspected to be the woman’s husband was also found dead a few kilometres from the house where the deceased were killed.
The body of the man, who is believed to have committed suicide, was found hanging inside a house.
The bodies of the deceased were moved to General Kago Funeral home as investigations into the mysterious killing continue.
