Rape convicts seek funds for case appeal

Information arriving at the Mahakamani news through its sources is that: Former Kenya Harlequins RFC center, Alex Olaba, through his father is seeking financial help of Ksh 3.5 million to appeal the Sexual Offences Case No. 10 of 2018 decision.

On 16 August, 2019 Hon. Martha Mutuku convicted Frank Wanyama and Alex Olaba to a 15 year imprisonment term for the crime of gang rape contrary to Section 10 of the Sexual Offences Act.

Whereas the appeal has been successfully lodged, his family is at the moment financially strained. The parents are reaching out for finances that will help in proving the innocence of their son. His new top notch lawyer, Pravin Bowry of Bowry and Co. Advocates is asking for Ksh. 3.5 million as his legal fee.
